Frederic Chopin, Mazurka in A minor, Op 67, No. 4, performed by 100 year old pianist Mme Thai Thi Lien. Teacher Emeritus at the National Academy of Music in Hanoi, Vietnam, in an event to honor and celebrate her remarkable career.
It is inspiring to 100 year old pianist playing music until this age. Because most of the people lose their passion for practicing their interests after 40 or 50 years old.
Mme Lien is also the mother of famed pianist Dang Thai Son, Gold Medalist of the 10th Chopin International Competition in Warsaw, Poland in 1980. Currently living and teaching in Montreal, Canada, Mr Son also performed several pieces by Chopin and Ravel in the second half of this program, which took place in the Grand Concert Hall on November 23, 2017.

Chopin is most known for his Nocturnes. But he also created many other great music like waltzes and Mazurkas. Chopin created over 59 Mazurkas which he wrote influenced by Poland (His country) transitional folk dancing.
BUT we need to notice that even though Chopin composed waltzes and mazurkas, he was creating his own unique style for them. This means the “Chopin waltz” is something totally different from the “waltz”. And the same goes for mazurkas.
