Who is Astor piazzolla ?
Jon Pareles ( the chief popular-music critic in the arts section of The New York Times) said: “To hear Mr. Piazzolla’s tangos as musical marvels is beside the point. As edgy lines and long-breathed tunes defy and embrace one another, the tangos suggest that even in the modern world, romance survives.”
The genius Astor Piazzolla is an Argentine tango composer, bandoneon player, and arranger. He is the single most important figure in the history of tango. In his hands, tango was no longer strictly a dance music. He developed the popular music of his heritage (argentinian tango music) to make tango a serious music and bring it to a serious musical audience. his style is known as “nuevo tango”, which incorporates classical forms and jazz elements into the traditional tango. He is also best known for his ‘Libertango‘, ‘Four Seasons of Buenos Aires’ and ‘Adiós Nonino’.
