Andrea Bocelli And Nicole Scherzinger – Don’t Cry For Me Argentina

The world’s greatest tenor Andrea Bocelli gives his unique voice to one of the best loved music from the movies ever composed “Don’t Cry for me Argentina” in a duet with singer Nicole Scherzinger.

Who is Nicole Scherzinger ?

Nicole Scherzinger is an American singer, dancer, actress and television personality. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii and her blood is a mix of Ukrainian and Filipino.

Living legend Andrea Bocelli seems to be able to find the best singers of the world to accompany him although Nicole is known for their sexual choreography and catchy lyrics as a pop singer, not her vocal ability.

“Don’t Cry for me Argentina” song

This classic song which has stood the test of time “Don’t Cry for me Argentina” was written by Tim Rice (lyrics) and Andrew Lloyd Webber (music) in 1976 in memory of Argentinian leader Evita Perón, the second wife of Argentine President Juan Perón.

Evita was an inspiration that Argentina badly needed. Peron owes his success to Evita. She was a representative of the true working class!… Evita and Juan were the hope of the future. However, politics whatever aside, it’s a gorgeous incomparable song.

The song was initially performed by Julie Covington (original version). She never performed it live, including not taking the title role in the London stage production of Evita, which made a star of the then relatively unknown Elaine Paige who has performed this great misunderstood song to a standard near Julie Covington without matching her.

Queen of pop Madonna Also sang the same song in 1996, in the musical drama: Evita, directed by Alan Parker and written by Parker and Oliver Stone. The film starred Madonna as Evita Perón, Antonio Banderas as Ché and Jonathan Pryce as Juan Perón, where Madonna deserved so much more credit for her acting and singing in this role.
